All about Coeliac
Disease
The first thing to realise once
you’ve been diagnosed with Coeliac disease is that there are lots
of food you can eat, so be positive and optimistic about the
future. With all the help and research available today, there’s
no reason why you can’t enjoy a healthy, interesting and varied
diet.
It must seem at the time of
diagnosis that the list of foodstuffs unavailable to Coeliac
patients is endless, and you are going to be almost certainly
faced with a boring and unimaginative diet. But that’s not the
case! It’s also probably no bad thing to revisit ones diet
either.
The amount of processed and
pre-prepared foods that feature in many persons diet is huge and
mainly unnecessary. This is a great time to reconsider, evaluate
and rethink. Try to make your new regime as healthy and freshly
prepared as you can. There’s absolutely no need to compromise on
taste and flavours, as you will discover. Many companies now
offer a great range of specialist products to enable you to cook
your favourite meals and food.
You are already aware that
Coeliac disease is a permanent intolerance to gluten – i.e..
different proteins found in wheat, barley, rye and oats. By
following a totally GF diet you can eliminate these proteins,
thus giving your body chance to recover. You will be fully aware
of the symptoms of this disease, and how unpleasant the side
effects are. Our sympathies are with you. Did you know that
Coeliac disease affects at least 1% of the population?
Here at My Perfect Cake, you
